- Be smartly turned out and vigilant.
- Arrive at least 15 minutes before the shift.
- Perform duties honestly and sincerely.
- Read and follow post/site instructions.
- Respect managers and office staff.
- No drinking, sleeping, gossiping or leaving the post without relief.
- Report untoward incidents, misconduct or misbehavior immediately.
- Take periodic rounds around the premises.
- Check employee IDs and challenge where required.
- Thoroughly check baggage for material being carried inside.
- Do not leave the post to obtain permission on anyone's behalf.
- Contact the supervisor / concerned Admin when there is a problem.
- Frisk vendors, housekeeping staff and security staff at entry/exit as specified.
- Never leave the post without being relieved.
- Switch off unwanted lights and air-conditioning after office closure.
- Do not switch off computers that are left on.
- Patrol hourly once the office is closed.
- Watch activities of casual labourers / contractors.
- Report unusual or untoward activity in writing to the Admin Head.
- Contract staff are to be frisked at the time of leaving the office premises in the evening.
- Incoming material must be documented and handed to the concerned person.
- Outgoing material requires proper checks, authorization, and gate-pass controls.
- Maintain returnable / non-returnable records and periodic status reporting.
- Internal movement of laptops and similar items is to be entered in the register.
- Maintain incoming and outgoing mail/courier records.
- Receive incoming courier, hand it over promptly and obtain signature.
- Record outgoing courier details and receiver signature.
- Review the previous shift log and progress plan during handover.
- Check documents, systems and occurrence reports before taking charge.
- Highlight follow-ups and maintain the occurrence report register.
- Check fire-fighting equipment and know extinguisher locations and operation.
- Check extinguisher recharge dates and report overdue items.
- Take prompt action to safeguard life and property during fire.
- Call ambulance support when necessary and approach a supervisor if unsure.
- Keep an escape route behind you; do not fight fire if untrained.
- Do not use lifts/escalators during fire emergencies.
- Provide help to ladies and physically handicapped persons.
- Escalate incidents using appropriate emergency contacts and produce a written incident report within 24 hours as described in the profile.
- Staff should leave desks clean and free of important items.
- Authorized signatory lists and laptop/person authorization details are to be maintained for security procedures.
- New employee and extension-number information should be intimated to security to avoid confusion.
